The
Sabbath is the seventh day of the week refferred to in the Bible as
the day when God rested from all His work as stipulated in Genesis 3:3
"And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because
that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made."
It is the same day that remains today as the Sabbath, our day of rest
which we at Browse&Brew believe should be kept as co-heirs of the
Messiah and spiritual children of Abraham. Galatians 2:8,12 states:
"And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen
through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying in thee
shall all nations be blessed...And the law is not of faith:but the man
that doeth them shall live in them." We believe that in keeping
Saturday, the seventh day of the week as our day of rest doesn't forfeit
the fact that we have been saved by grace but only manifests our firm
faith in our salvation through faith, it is but a physical manifestation
of that inward faith we have. We believe that keeping the Sabbath is
in keeping with God's law of the seventh day as the day of rest which
has never been revoked nor altered in the days past nor possibly in
the future. We also believe we can be zealous for the law without being
actually lagalistic in the same way that the Jews were zealous for the
law as stated in Acts 21:20.
Foremost, we firmly believe that: If thou turn
away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day;
and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and
shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure,
nor speaking thine own words; then shalt thou delight thyself in the
Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth,
and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of
the Lord hath spoken it." Isaiah 58:13-14.
We encourage guests to participate and join us in our
